Meatloaf

  • 2lb. ground beef
  • 3/4c saltine crackers
  • 2 bread slices
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/3 c beef broth
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 2 tsp of salt and pepper

  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1 tsp worstershire sauce
  • 5 TBS light brown sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lay the bread slices on the bottle of loaf pan
  3. Mix beef, egg, milk, seasonings, and saltines in large bowl until well combined.
  4. shape into a well prepared loaf pan
  5. Bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Mix glaze in small bowl while meatloaf is cooking.
  7. Once 45 minute timer is done, glaze meatloaf and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

this recipe works well as a slow cooker method.

To slow cook: prepare everything in a large bowl and combine very well. shape the mix into loaf and place in the center of the slow cooker. Spread the ketchup glaze over top. Cover; cook on low heat for 3 to 4 hours or until meat thermometer reads 160°F in the center of the loaf. add extra glaze on top if desired. Enjoy!
